Cannon Ball Race

This was the second race in the Offshore Regatta from Oostende to Ramsgate. With a weather forecast of SW 12/14 to start which meant a foul tide beat for the first half of the race and forecasted to died of in the afternoon the decision was made to shorten the race at the Ruytengen NW Buoy. Assarain IV was the first yacht to round the Buoy in 6 hours 26 minutes and the last yacht to round was Bushwakka after 9 hours and 12 minutes. All yachts motor sailed to Ramsgate.
