East Coast Race 2014 (WMYC - Sunk Race)

This race started in West Mersea with a reasonable breeze getting yachts up to the NE Gunfleet in good time. After that it was a battle with the tide as the wind varied from nil to some. That was until the yachts were two thirds the way across, early evening when a thunderstorm started and a 50 knot squall. This caused some retirements but others carried dispite being knocked down a number of times.

None of this effected Tonnerre de Breskens who had long finished, British Soldier finished just after midnight, McGregor IV, Woozle Hunter and Sapphire just after 0700 sunday morning.
