The Buckley Goblets Race from West Mersea to Oostende starts at 0700, just about in daylight, and is a 86 mile almost the shortest possible, to arrive in Oostende usually in time for Supper and final season party.

Prize giving: At the Royal North Sea Yacht Club Ostend on Saturday 15th September 2018 – time will be announced.
High Water: West Mersea 0351 BST 5.3M Ostend 1636 BST 5.0M (add 1 hour for Belgium Summer Time)
General Conditions for Entry: All Entrants must comply with the requirements of the EAORA Sailing Instructions Part 1. Schengen Forms must be completed and distributed as per the part 2 Sailing Instructions.
Safety ISAF Special Regulations Category 3 with a Category 2 Life Raft.
Warning Signals: Class 3 0655; Class 2 0705; Class 1 0715 (Refer to EAORA Sailing Instructions Part 1 for Class Handicaps.)
Start Line: The start line will be a line between the main mast of the Committee Vessel lying to the west of the Nass Beacon and an outer distance mark (Yellow Buoy with black flag) approximately 2 cables to the south of the Committee Vessel. Yachts start in an easterly direction leaving the Committee Vessel to port and the outer distance mark to starboard.
Course: Colne Bar (P); North Eagle (S); N.E. Gunfleet (S); Long Sand Head (S); Avoid Obstruction area; Buitenstroombank Buoy (P); Finish Line. Approx. distance 86 miles.
Finish Line: The Finish Line is a line extending from the O3 Buoy (Green) to the Binnestroombank Buoy. Yachts must record their own time when crossing the line with the Binnenstroom Bank Buoy bearing 225° M. (For Reference the position of the Binnenstroombank Buoy is approximately; 51 14’.47N 02 53’.65E)

A yacht shall not enter an area designated as an obstruction.
