Four weeks to the first race
Posted: Saturday, 4th April 2015
It’s just over four weeks to the first EAORA race weekend, so I hope your preparations are well under way for the season.
The website www.eaora.org.uk is now fully updated and ready to take your entries. Don’t forget that each yacht is required to undertake their own safety check prior to their first EAORA race using the appropriate EAORA checklist and you need to send the completed form to the EAORA Chief Race Officer; firstname.lastname@example.org
The handbook page on the website has all the relevant information to get you started and it’s worth printing out all the relevant pages and keep them on-board throughout the season.
Don’t forget that this season there are two important changes to the Sailing Instructions. Firstly, in all EAORA races the crew limit will be the number printed on your IRC certificate and not 'plus one' as in previous years. Secondly for the Team Trophies only the top two yachts in each club will be scored towards the overall prizes, which will give the smaller clubs a better chance to win.
If you need any help with entering on-line or safety checks please contact me on email@example.com
Best of luck and I look forward to seeing you all on the 8th May at the West Mersea Yacht Club before the start of the Ralph Herring race to Burnham.
