2009 Cannon Ball Race

The Cannon Ball Started in the Markermere just outside the Muden Harbour entrance. After the fleets lay day the day before after a grewling East Coast race everyone was chomping on the bit at the start line, with the wind in a northerly direction a good course was to be set. With fairly short legs and a asymmetric gybe at the wing mark managed to separate the men from the boys and bought out good boat handling on a tight course by all competetors.

Stan Fenton's Jedi Knight had line honours followed by Bassett, Magee and Minter's Oz Privateer finishing closely after them. However on corrected time John Edwards' Sigma 38, Red Macaw managed to do the business winning the Cannon Ball with S.Galloway Elan 40 Titian clinching 2nd place for the 4th year in row.
